Our story

Built in Chesapeake. Trusted across the region.

Since 1985, Power Electric Company has been built on a simple idea: commercial customers deserve an electrical contractor who shows up, does the job right and stands behind the work. More than 41 years and 2,000+ projects later, that is still how we operate.

Headquartered in Chesapeake's 23324 South Norfolk area, our crews work across all of South Hampton Roads — Chesapeake, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth and Suffolk — and travel to the Peninsula, Western Tidewater, the Eastern Shore and northeastern North Carolina. In all, we serve 43 communities.

As a Virginia Class A Contractor, we handle the work that keeps businesses running: new construction and tenant fit-outs, lighting, panel and transformer upgrades, fiber and high-voltage terminations, electrical repairs, and standby generator installation — for commercial owners, industrial plants, and federal, state and local government facilities.

Power Electric is also a proud member of ABC Virginia — Associated Builders and Contractors — supporting safety, training and quality craftsmanship in the construction industry.

How we work

From first walk-through
to energized.

  1. Step 01

    Consult & site walk

We walk the site with your team, review drawings and pin down scope, schedule and constraints.

  2. Step 02

    Design & estimate

A clear, itemized proposal — load calculations, equipment and phasing laid out before work begins.

  3. Step 03

    Install & inspect

Licensed crews build it to code, coordinate with your GC and trades, and see it through inspection.

  4. Step 04

    Maintain & support

Preventive maintenance, testing and fast repairs keep your system safe for years after energization.
